Penerapan Strategi Think Talk Write Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemahaman Matematis Siswa Pada Pokok Bahasan Bilangan Berpangkat
Abstract
This study aims to find out (1) How students' mathematical understanding ability of IX MTs S Nurul
Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa prior to the implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) strategy on the
subject of How Matching Numbers (2) How Student Mathematical Understanding Ability IX MTs S
Nurul Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa after the implementation of the Think Talk Write (TTW) strategy
on the topic power of numbers. The method used in this research is classroom action research. From
the results of observation and ability test in solving the problem of the numbers of rank given to the
students, found the location of student errors are: students are less interested in learning mathematics,
students do not know what is known from the problem and students are less thorough in solving the
problem. The percentage of classical completeness and the average grade of the initial test classes are
still low at 27.5% and 54.63. Implementation of think talk write strategy can improve student learning
outcomes. This is marked by increasing the percentage of classical completeness and grade point
average in the first cycle by 40% and 56.88 to 67.5% and 67.00 in cycle II and to 92.5% and 77.50 at
the end of cycle III . Application of Think Talk Write strategy is also able to improve students'
mathematical understanding ability. It can be seen by the percentage in the first cycle of 58.03% to
66.24% in cycle II and to 76.24% at the end of cycle III.
